Visual Representations & Interpretations Foresight Centre 3 Brownlow Street Liverpool L69 3GL September 22nd-24th 1998 Dear Colleague, Thank-you very much for your submission to VRI'98. We are pleased to confirm that your submission has been accepted. The letter we sent to you indicates the length of your presentation. Please make an abstract available on you website and email vri98@csc.liv.ac.uk with the URL. If your presentation was accepted as a poster or a poster + short presentation, please note that there is no current constraint on the size of a poster presentation. Please don't make them too big though! We aim to make exhibition screens available as required. We would be grateful if all presenters could send, by return of post to Irene Neilson at the above address, :- * Three hard copies of a one page abstract of your contribution formatted according to the instructions posted to you and also detailed on this WWW site. This abstract will be made available to participants at the start of the workshop. * We also require an electronic copy of this abstract (Word 6 or Postscript format) which should be emailed to vri98@csc.liv.ac.uk * A completed registration form with the workshop registration fee of £75 (sterling). We are sorry but we cannot accept payment by credit card. * A completed form for the Tate Gallery tour (on Thursday 24th September). Publication of the Workshop Proceedings in Book form Publication of the proceedings of the workshop has been agreed with Springer Verlag pending the official signing of contracts, and will be published after the event. We will require camera ready copy of your contribution not later than Friday 16th October. Please note: if we receive papers after this date we cannot guarantee that they will appear in the final proceedings. Details of the formatting of papers for the publication will be posted on the VRI '98 website as soon as they are received from the publisher. Failure to comply with the Springer requirements will mean that your contribution will be returned to you by the editors and as a result you could miss the 16th October deadline. Please note that it will not be possible to reproduce colour materials for the book and b+w material should be well contrasted. It is the responsibility of individual authors to obtain copyright clearance for any images used. The maximum length of any invited contribution to this publication is specified in the letter you received. Please note that we are unable to guarantee that papers currently accepted as 10 minute or Poster only presentations will be published. For papers in these categories to be considered for subsequent publication, 2 hard copies of a revised full paper (max 6 A4 pages) should be sent to Irene Neilson at the above address by Friday 18th September. The resubmitted paper will be reviewed again and a decision as to publication made during the conference. Equipment Requirements Please email vri98@csc.liv.ac.uk with any special equipment requirements for your presentation. Please write EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS in the subject line of your email message. A PC running Office 97, a slide projector, an overhead projector will be available to presenters. It would be useful, however, if we knew as soon as possible the exact equipment requirements of each presenter, particularly if live Internet access is required. If you are doing a poster presentation, please indicate the size of your display so that we can ensure appropriate exhibition screens. Looking forward to meeting you in September, Irene and Ray
